The Not Fade Away starts out with nice bounce similar to efforts of a few previous years, but with the addition of '77 guitar style. It then builds into something else, with Phil doing a brief Caution riff a la (An unfortunate patch here, but we're lucky that section isn't missing altogether.).

Comments and Observations Recording the Song: Devil Woman was recorded at Abbey Road in London on September 8 and 9, , at sessions which also produced the popular Miss You Nights song. It was the first session produced by Bruce Welch exclusively and the first session recording with backing vocalists Tony Rivers, John Perry and Ken Gold, whom Cliff would use for many years to come.

I originally bought this album on vinyl back in the 70s. The original vinyl release was a two-album set, which had some awkward breaks at the ends of each side of the record. It was tough to get any real continuity when you had to turn over the record every 20 minutes or so/5().
